The exerior 3D model to be used when the X-Plane version 8 object format is released this Fall.
Features:
- Created using data from aircraft operation and performance manuals
- Plugin code to implement accurate instrumentation and performance
- Several displays for the Multi-Function Displays (MFDs) are modelled and operate as they do in the real Hornet. These have not been modelled in any publically available flight simulator project
- External fuselage and external 3D model have been built in TrueSpace. Although PlaneMaker is used to build the model that X-Plane uses for its flight model calculation, the TrueSpace 3D model can be displayed instead to the user to provide a more realistic model. It's pure eye candy but after years of work it makes the end result look more professional.
The 3D cockpit modelled in TrueSpace. All displays are switches are functional. Most of the major MFD displays are available and work according to the operation described in the Hornet manuals.
